What is IHOP?
Isaiah 56:7 "...these I will bring to my holy mountain and give them joy in my house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and sacrifices will be accepted on my altar; for MY HOUSE WILL BE CALLED A HOUSE OF PRAYER for all nations."
International House of Prayer
The vision of IHOP East Bay is to establish a 24 hour a day prayer furnace, in the spirit of the Tabernacle of David, where we participate with Heaven in night and day prayer and worship around God's throne for the east bay region and the nations of the world. We are also committed to equipping forerunners in prayer, fasting and the Great Commission.
The prayer room is the focus and heart of everything that goes on at IHOP East Bay. The prayer room opened September 18, 2006 with 8 hours of continuous prayer from 6am-2pm Monday-Friday. The hours have expanded since then and we are currently open 4am-4pm Monday-Friday.
Why 24/7 worship and prayer?
There are numerous expressions of night and day prayer in scriptues, the most notable being the Tabernacle of David. When our hearts deeply experience the love of God in the place of worship and intercession, we are strengthened and empowered to give ourselves to the labor of the work of the Kingdom with greater diligence, authority and power. 24/7 worship and prayer will change the spiritual atmosphere of the city, thus opening the heavens for more anointed and effective evangelism to the lost and unity in the Church. We believe that the Holy Spirit is orchestrating a global prayer strategy far eclipsing any other prayer movement in history resulting in an unprecedented harvest of souls throughout the earth.
IHOP East Bay features these elements
- Enjoyable prayer and intimacy with God based on the bridal paradigm in scripture (i.e. Song of Songs, Life of David) that is constant and sustained until the Groom (Christ) returns.
- Intercessory Worship - God centered prayer in the spirit of the Tabernacle of David using the ?harp and bowl? prayer model described in Revelation 5:8.
- Prayer Covering - The development of a prayer-covering network with local church prayer ministries that emphasizes our spiritual gate-keeper role on behalf of this region. (Isa. 4:4-6)
- Fasted Lifestyle - A conviction of character and conduct that is a natural and reasonable result of our total fascination with Jesus Christ. This Sermon on the Mount lifestyle is lived out by saying Yes to God and living out of the spirit, and saying No to the world system and living out of the soul (the mind, will, and emotions).
- Great Commission - Following the King's instructions to us by going out to share the His life through practical ways such as mercy, healing, prophecy and preaching.
- Israel Mandate - We believe and invest in the scriptural promises to our elder brother Israel, by praying for the peace of Jerusalem (Psa 122:6)
- Training School of Ministry and Internships will be used to develop full- and part-time intercessory missionaries to serve here and also to be sent out to start other Houses of Prayer in other regions.
- Encounter God Services(EGS) EVERY SUNDAY NIGHT. Each service is designed to invite God's manifest presence to bring honor to Jesus, ministry to others and cast vision and values of night and day prayer.
